This Fashion Design Degree Show is the chance to showcase the class of 2021 fashion designers. No one thought that we would be in this same position as last year, unable to have a fashion show, but our students have used their resilience and creativity to respond to the situation. Most students have created a mini collection to represent a three-dimensional response to their digital portfolio submission, whilst others on the commercial discipline have created complex 3D digital collections.

Each digital portfolio highlights a breadth of fashion knowledge, sustainability and diversity. Folios include highly creative design solutions alongside commercial practice. They include manufacture, and illustration skills that highlight versatility, essential in today’s fast-moving world. Each student responded to the brief of designing a collection in a highly personal way, considering sustainability and innovative textile solutions.

In a world where digital outcomes are becoming ever more present, our students prove that they are ready for the challenge in the way they turned this whole situation around in such a positive way.
