Introduction
The BSc (Hons) Architecture Foundation Entry route is a preparatory year long course introducing freehand and technical drawing, Auto CAD software and model-making. The course includes the study of contemporary and historical architectural contexts enabling a wide range of individuals the access to study in a culturally diverse learning environment to acquire a combination of artistic and digital industry skills involving emerging technologies.
Our virtual Degree Show focuses on the final major project design of a public gallery building offering a variety of spatial experiences. The students have documented the development of UCLan’s Masterplan site to create their individual gallery designs for the campus in Preston.
The course usually includes a visit to London’s major national museums and galleries to experience the city’s culture and gather primary research examining the curatorial practices of art and architecture exhibitions. Students also have the opportunity to join a European study visit to broaden their knowledge of international architecture.
