About me

As an interior design student, I wanted to put a clear emphasis on sustainability and well-being within my designs. I believe that this is no longer an afterthought in the design process today. Throughout, I have actively sought out live brief opportunities to enrich my studies with invaluable industry experience, making great memories and achievements, whilst learning.

A historical building central to Preston's past, built between the two World Wars. I have drawn a parallel between the turmoil and uncertainty the world was facing then (1920/30's) and the struggles we face today with the effects of COVID-19; both then and now, society craves distraction and escapism, which inspired the thought for a luxury cinema experience to get people out of the house and dressed up again! Whether you want the social element of a shared cinema, or prefer the peace of a private room, this project should be able to provide something for everyone.

This board sums up the project entirely from the layout, materials and final visuals.

I wanted the bar/restaurant to have an exclusive luxurious feel, to be used alongside the cinema or function seperately. I incorporated bespoke designs for the bar, dining area, and stage for live performances.

Bespoke designs feature in the entrance as well for the vintage inspired ticket booths.

The design comprises two large cinema screens on the ground floor. Fitted with bespoke pods for social distancing and ultimate comfort during the film.

The USP for this design is the Individual Cinema Rooms holding parties of 2-16 people. Available for private functions and events. The ability to customise your experience completely to make the most of your visit.

Alongside the individual cinema rooms, I wanted to provide a casual event or breakout space with bespoke rounded sofas to encourage socialising. This could have also been hired for clubs/group meetings.

It was important to me to create branding to go along with the interiors to really tie it all together.

Do people have the same link to cinema tickets they once did? Souvenirs and memories may be attached but do people value digital versions only now?
